Partial Ute Wrap - Toyota Hilux for UFUWA

Commercial Ute Wrapping | Union Branding with Purpose | Vinyl Wrapz Perth
Bringing firefighter pride to the road with custom vinyl wrapping that stands out.

When it comes to cause-driven vehicle wraps that carry both meaning and message, it’s about more than turning heads — it’s about honouring a story. That’s exactly what this project for the United Professional Firefighters Union – Western Australia (UFUWA) set out to do. The union approached Vinyl Wrapz Perth to bring their powerful tribute artwork to life on a Toyota Hilux, creating a mobile statement piece that reflects the values, identity, and strength of Western Australia’s firefighter community.

This was no standard ute wrap — it was a custom-designed partial wrap, featuring two stylised firefighter heads rising from a background of swirling smoke. The visual aimed to highlight the bravery and unity of the men and women the UFUWA represents. While the core design was provided by the client, our team stepped in to help refine specific elements — in particular, adjusting the smoke effect to make it more defined and dynamic once printed on solid white vinyl.

About the Client: United Professional Firefighters Union of Western Australia (UFU WA)

This project was delivered in partnership with the United Professional Firefighters Union of Western Australia (UFU WA) — the official representative body for WA’s professional firefighters. Their request was simple but powerful: create a branded vehicle that celebrates their members, communicates their presence in the community, and does so with respect, strength, and style.

The vehicle chosen for this wrap was a Toyota Hilux, known for its durability and versatility. It’s a fitting vehicle for a union that represents those who face some of the most demanding and dangerous work conditions in the state. The goal was to turn this Hilux into a visual extension of the union’s identity — a symbol of protection, honour, and public service.

Project Scope: Toyota Hilux Partial Wrap

The service completed was a partial commercial wrap, focused on the driver and passenger doors and the rear tray sides. The design was provided by the client, featuring two firefighter silhouettes emerging through a rising smoke effect. The theme was clear and emotive — a subtle tribute to the environments in which firefighters operate, executed in a style that remains professional and polished on the road.

Our role at Vinyl Wrapz was to refine, prepare, print, and install the design with the same level of precision and discipline our clients practice every day. This job wasn’t just about branding. It was about bringing forward the identity of a workforce that rarely seeks the spotlight but deserves recognition wherever they go.

Design & Highlights

From the start, the focal point of this job was the smoke effect behind the silhouette graphics. Printed on white wrap vinyl to match the vehicle’s paintwork, the smoke design required precise calibration during prepress to avoid becoming overly light, washed out, or clashing with the vehicle’s base colour. We adjusted contrast levels and opacity through several print passes until the smoke looked balanced — visible enough to be seen from a distance, but soft enough to look realistic.

The silhouettes of the firefighters were placed strategically across the side panels. Their positioning aligned with the Hilux’s natural panel breaks and gaps, creating a sense of movement without disrupting the flow of the design. The choice to use black and grey tones meant that the final aesthetic looked bold without being visually noisy — a clear, powerful message delivered through clean layout and sharp printing.

All printed areas were laminated with a gloss finish, providing UV protection, water resistance, and scratch resistance, while giving the artwork a vivid, high-impact shine under sunlight.

Materials Used

As with all of our commercial wrapping projects, we selected only high-performance wrap film for this installation. This included:

  • White print-grade wrap vinyl with a durable adhesive base
  • Gloss overlaminate to boost colour richness and provide long-term durability
  • Edge sealing treatments to increase longevity on tray corners and around exposed hardware
  • Knifeless tape application to ensure all cut lines were crisp and free of blade marks

Because this is a working utility vehicle, longevity was a priority — we planned every panel with wear zones in mind and used industry-standard curing time to maximise adhesion before vehicle return.

Installation Challenges

One of the biggest technical challenges with this install was colour matching and edge integration. The vehicle’s paint was a factory white, and our wrap was printed on white film — but even subtle differences in white tones can become visible when a design fades out toward the edges. To combat this, we ran edge-blending gradients that allowed the printed smoke to dissolve smoothly into the vehicle’s paintwork, avoiding harsh transitions or obvious end lines.

Additionally, the door handles and tray seams required extra care. We wrapped tight to the contours using heat and pressure techniques to ensure the smoke didn’t warp, stretch, or lose detail across curved surfaces. All seams were post-heated to lock the adhesive and reduce the risk of edge lift — especially important given WA’s fluctuating temperatures.

Every installation step was done in line with our union and fleet standards: no shortcuts, no unaligned logos, and no edge visible unless it had to be.

Branding with Purpose

What made this project truly special wasn’t just the artwork — it was the intention behind it. This wasn’t branding for the sake of advertising. It was branding for unity, visibility, and respect.

The UFU WA Hilux now serves as a mobile representative of the union at training sites, community events, fundraisers, and public safety campaigns. The imagery connects directly with the public while also serving as a point of pride for firefighters and union members who see their values and profession represented with strength.

It’s also an example of how commercial vehicle wrapping can be used for more than just marketing. In this case, it builds identity, tells a story, and reminds people that there are dedicated professionals behind every fire truck and station door.

Why Vinyl Wrapz Perth?

Our work is built on the same principles that firefighters live by: precision, pride, and reliability. From small local brands to large government organisations, we wrap every vehicle with the same commitment to detail.

Partial Fleet Bus Wrap – Toyota HiAces, Toyota Coaster & Mitsubishi Rosa for PCYC

Partial Fleet Bus Wrap - Toyota HiAces, Toyota Coaster & Mitsubishi Rosa for PCYC

Commercial Government Wrapping for PCYC

Fleet Graphics | Aboriginal-Inspired Artwork | Vinyl Wrapz Perth

When it comes to government and community-focused vehicle wraps, it’s not just about looks — it’s about representing a mission. That’s why PCYC (Police & Community Youth Centres) engaged Vinyl Wrapz Perth to partially wrap a selection of their fleet with professional, culturally sensitive branding that reflects the incredible work they do across Western Australia.

This project involved a fleet of four vehicles — two Toyota Hiace vans (including one 4×4 variant), one Toyota Coaster bus, and one Mitsubishi Rosa bus — each wrapped with artwork that highlights PCYC’s community values, brand message, and strong Indigenous engagement.

About the Client: PCYC WA

PCYC WA is a non-profit organisation working alongside the WA Police Force and local communities to deliver programs that help young people reach their full potential. Their work includes safe spaces, diversion programs, sport and recreation, and youth development across both metro and regional WA.

As a highly visible public-facing organisation, their vehicles serve a dual purpose: transporting youth safely and visibly communicating their mission wherever they go. The wrap needed to be more than a design — it needed to express the organisation’s values, connect with communities, and stand up to heavy daily use

Project Scope: Fleet-Wide Partial Wraps

This branding project included four distinct vehicle types, each with unique shapes and surfaces:

  • Toyota Hiace 4×4
  • Toyota Hiace Standard
  • Toyota Coaster Bus
  • Mitsubishi Rosa Bus

All four received a partial wrap — a cost-effective, impactful solution that allowed for strong brand visibility without the need for a full-body wrap.

The wrap design was provided by the client, featuring:

  • PCYC’s official branding and slogan
  • High-contrast arrow graphics to convey movement and progression
  • Aboriginal-inspired artwork, reflecting PCYC’s ongoing commitment to working with Indigenous youth and communities
  • Contact details and service messaging, neatly integrated into each layout

Design: Cultural Significance, Colour, and Continuity

The design, provided by PCYC, was one of the standout features of this project. Developed with careful attention to cultural representation, the layout incorporated Aboriginal-inspired graphic elements — including circular motifs and symbolic directional arrows — that aligned with PCYC’s focus on inclusivity and youth engagement.

The design was formatted across multiple templates to adapt to the varying shapes of buses and vans, ensuring consistency in branding while allowing room for adjustment on curved surfaces and panel breaks. We worked closely with the client to ensure proper colour matching during print production, and our team adjusted placements during installation to preserve spacing and balance — especially on the Hiace 4×4, where floating design elements had to align across door gaps and contours.

Every line, logo, and printed component was placed with intention, accuracy, and care.

Installation Challenges & Unique Aspects

This was not a standard fleet job. The combination of government branding, cultural artwork, and vehicle diversity presented a number of challenges that our team met with professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Challenges:

  • Design Accuracy: Ensuring Aboriginal elements were reproduced and aligned exactly as intended, maintaining cultural integrity and avoiding distortion
  • Surface Variability: The buses had large, flatter surfaces, while the Hiaces included curves, seals, and sliding doors requiring flexible layout adjustments
  • Condition Variance: Some vehicles were newer and easier to prep; others required additional cleaning, paint assessment, and edge treatment
  • Fleet Consistency: Despite the differing body styles, the final wraps had to present a cohesive and unified brand presence across the entire fleet

Project Highlights

One of the standout wraps was the Toyota Hiace 4×4, which featured Aboriginal-inspired graphics printed in deep blues and charcoal greys. The floating, non-connected elements of the artwork required careful positioning across uneven vehicle surfaces, while still achieving perfect spacing and balance.

Other highlights included:

  • Hardware removal on some vehicles to wrap behind handles and trims, increasing durability and visual cleanliness
  • Split-panel graphic alignment, especially across sliding van doors and contoured bus panels
  • Consistency in colour and scale across all four vehicle types, despite differing shapes and sizes

Each wrap was completed to the highest standard, with precise cuts, seamless overlaps, and fully post-heated edges to lock in the material.

Key Materials Used

To ensure both visual impact and long-term durability across this mixed-use fleet, we used:

  • High-quality printable wrap vinyl, ideal for commercial and government vehicles
  • Gloss protective laminate, providing UV resistance and extra scratch protection
  • Colour-calibrated digital printing, which helped faithfully reproduce the client’s custom artwork — especially the culturally significant Aboriginal motifs
  • Careful surface prep and hardware removal, ensuring maximum adhesion and a clean finish on both newer and older vehicles

Each wrap was installed at our dedicated facility in Perth, using controlled workshop conditions to minimise dust, imperfections, and alignment issues.

Why Vinyl Wrapz Perth?

At Vinyl Wrapz, we treat every vehicle as a platform for purpose — whether it’s helping a tradie land new jobs or supporting organisations like PCYC in their life-changing work with youth.

Here’s why Perth’s most respected names choose us for commercial and government wraps:

  • Experience with public-sector projects and compliance
  • Respectful handling of culturally sensitive content
  • Adaptability across diverse vehicle types and conditions
  • Commercial-grade vinyl, lamination, and print quality
  • Consistent wrap execution for multi-vehicle fleets

When trust, professionalism, and detail matter — we deliver.

Why Partial Wraps Were Ideal for PCYC

Partial wraps offer the perfect middle ground between cost and visibility, especially for fleet projects in the government or not-for-profit sector.

For PCYC, this approach meant:

  • Budget efficiency — maximum visibility without full panel coverage
  • Faster turnaround for multiple vehicles
  • Easier maintenance and future updates
  • High-impact visual branding, even from a distance

These wraps now serve as rolling ambassadors for PCYC’s programs, helping to build brand trust and raise awareness in every community they drive through.

Project Summary:

  • Client: PCYC – Police & Community Youth Centres
  • Vehicles: 2x Toyota Hiace vans, 1x Toyota Coaster bus, 1x Mitsubishi Rosa bus
  • Service: Partial wraps with custom client-provided design
  • Artwork Elements: Official PCYC branding, Indigenous-inspired graphics, youth service messaging

Partial Vehicle Fleet Wrap – Toyota Corolla, Kia EV9, LDV Deliver 9 & Fiat Ducato for Premier Windows

Partial Vehicle Fleet Wrap - Toyota Corolla, KIa EV9, LDV Deliver 9 & Fiat ducato for Premier Windows

Partial Fleet Wrapping for Premier Windows

Multiple Vehicle Branding | Printed Partial Wraps | Vinyl Wrapz Perth

When you’re a household name in your industry — and have been featured on The Block TV show — your branding deserves to stand out both on-screen and on the street. That’s exactly what Premier Windows achieved by partnering with Vinyl Wrapz Perth for a coordinated partial fleet wrap rollout across a variety of commercial vehicles.

This multi-vehicle job included four distinct vehicles — a Toyota Corolla, Kia EV9, LDV Deliver 9, and Fiat Ducato — all wrapped with a consistent, high-impact design that visually tied the brand together while adapting seamlessly to different shapes and surfaces.

About the Client: Premier Windows

Premier Windows & Doors is a leader in architectural glass and aluminium solutions. Their premium window and door systems are featured in homes and projects across WA — and nationally through their work showcased on The Block.

As their vehicle fleet grew to include both passenger and commercial vehicles, Premier sought a branding solution that would:

  • Communicate their expertise and style
  • Showcase real installations visually
  • Maintain a professional and consistent brand presence

Project Overview: Partial Wraps Across Four Vehicle Types

The project involved delivering partial wraps on four vehicles of varying size, age, and panel layout — each with its own challenges but unified by the same branding vision.

Vehicles Included:

  • Toyota Corolla
  • Kia EV9
  • LDV Deliver 9
  • Fiat Ducato

Each vehicle received a printed partial wrap using Premier’s supplied design. The layouts featured a realistic printed image of glass installations, the Premier logo and tagline, contact information, and a shoutout to their appearance on The Block — a strong credibility signal and marketing asset.

Design & Production

The design was supplied by the client, and our team at Vinyl Wrapz Perth adapted and prepared the artwork for vehicle-specific contours, scaling, and fitting.

Production process highlights:

  • High-resolution wide-format printing of architectural imagery
  • UV-stable inks and gloss lamination for durability and finish clarity
  • Layout refinements for consistent positioning of key design elements

The creative challenge was ensuring that a consistent message was preserved across a compact car, SUV and large van — without distortion, awkward cropping, or visual imbalance.

Installation Challenges & Unique Aspects

Every wrap presented its own unique install considerations, and coordinating four very different platforms within a single campaign required attention to both detail and logistics.

Key challenges:

  • Vehicle variety: Wrap panels had to be reshaped for each vehicle without losing core visual elements
  • Mixed conditions: Some vehicles were brand new and easy to prep; others were aged and required additional cleaning and reconditioning before install
  • Rear and side adaptation: The design incorporated windows, door seals, and unique trim differently on each vehicle
  • Layout cohesion: Despite surface differences, every vehicle needed to look like part of a single branded fleet

This project is a perfect example of how partial fleet wrapping can deliver visual impact and brand unity — even with highly mixed vehicle types.

Key Materials Used

For this job, we used high-quality commercial-grade vinyl and protective laminates that deliver both impact and durability — especially important for vehicles exposed to constant use, weather, and washing.

Material Overview:

  • High-quality printable wrap vinyl with excellent colour reproduction and conformability
  • Gloss laminate film to protect against UV, abrasion, and fading
  • Eco-friendly, long-lasting inks suitable for high-resolution photographic designs
  • Professional-grade surface preparation to ensure strong adhesion and a clean finish, even on aged vehicles

All materials were chosen to meet the demands of fleet use, ensuring the wraps remain vibrant and professional-looking across all vehicle types.

Full Rally Car Wrap – Mitsubishi Evo 9 for Perfmet

Full Rally Car Wrap - Mitsubishi Evo 9 for Perfmet

Full Rally Car Wrap for Perfmet Mitsubishi Evo 9

Race-Ready Styling | Performance Wraps | Mitsubishi Evo 9 Livery | Vinyl Wrapz Perth

Built for competition, designed to stand out — a full wrap that brings race attitude to the workshop floor and the dirt track.

When the team at Perfmet approached us with their Mitsubishi Evolution 9 rally car, they weren’t after anything basic. This wasn’t just a project about updating a livery — it was about prepping a purpose-built race machine with a new visual identity that matched its engineering pedigree.

From the moment this car rolled into the Vinyl Wrapz workshop, it was clear this wasn’t your average performance vehicle. Fully stripped-out and tuned for competition, this Evo 9 was clad in carbon, fitted with track hardware, and clearly had some kilometres of hard driving behind it.

The brief was to remove the remnants of the previous wrap, create a bold new look, and install a complete, high-end full wrap ready for the pressures of rally stages and public promo alike.

About the Client: Perfmet

Perfmet is a specialist fabrication and metal solutions provider, heavily involved in motorsport sponsorships and competition builds across Australia. Their involvement in rally racing showcases the same values they bring to their business: toughness, performance, and precision.

This Mitsubishi Evo 9 rally car is part of their broader competition fleet, flying the Perfmet name at high speeds across some of Australia’s toughest rally stages.

The Vehicle: Mitsubishi Evo 9 Rally Car

The Mitsubishi Evo 9 is an icon — a turbocharged, all-wheel-drive machine built to dominate twisty mountain roads and loose gravel rally stages. The version we worked on was fully rally-prepped:

  • Full roll cage
  • Lightweight carbon fibre door cards
  • Racing harnesses and stripped interior
  • Aftermarket aero
  • Rally-spec wheels and suspension
  • Previous wrap still partly intact in high-heat areas

This wasn’t just a showpiece. It was a hard-driven race vehicle that needed a wrap capable of holding up to competition use and repeated public exposure at events and meets.

The Job: Remove, Restore, Rewrap

Unlike a factory-fresh daily driver, race cars come with history. This Evo had already been wrapped once before — and that wrap had partially fused with the bodywork due to rally-stage abuse, UV exposure, and extreme temperatures.

Before we could begin applying anything new, we needed to:

  • Remove old wrap fragments, including vinyl burned into lower rocker panels
  • Carefully clean adhesive residue without damaging underlying paint
  • Repair minor panel inconsistencies for smooth reapplication
  • Rework surface prep in areas around the carbon fibre trim and tight corners

Only then could we start installing the new custom design, which had been developed in-house by the Vinyl Wrapz team to align with Perfmet’s bold, metallic-heavy visual direction.

Design: Industrial Grit Meets Racing Confidence

We knew the Perfmet Evo needed to look fast standing still — but it also had to reflect the brand’s identity: engineering-driven, bold, and unapologetically sharp.

The final layout included:

  • High-contrast, angled design language inspired by airflow and speed
  • Industrial-style elements like rivet-inspired overlays and diagonal striping
  • Clear, high-visibility Perfmet branding across the doors and rear
  • Darker lower tones to mask stage grime and dust, blending into the track environment
  • Brighter upper body colours to stand out during fast movement and onlookers’ photos

Rather than lean on racing clichés like checkerboard patterns or generic rally fonts, we aimed to build a look that’s recognisably Perfmet — confident, industrial, and no-nonsense.

Materials & Application Strategy

Race vehicles have different wrap demands than regular cars. Not only do they take more physical abuse, but they’re often photographed and filmed under varying light conditions — and sometimes even during night stages with artificial lighting.

Materials selected:

  • High-tack motorsport-grade wrap film, built for adhesion to raw metal, carbon fibre, and composite panels
  • Gloss finish laminate, enhancing the reflective quality of the branding for visibility
  • Temperature-stable application — we carefully heated panels during install to match the race-ready prep of the car
  • Edge sealing and post-heating to lock in adhesion and reduce lift under aero turbulence

Every panel was cleaned twice — once before wrap, and again mid-way through — to ensure no grit or leftover adhesive could cause bubbling or compromise bond strength.

Highlights & Finishing Touches

A few things that made this job stand out:

  • Custom wrap around carbon door panels: These panels required extra attention due to their texture and the need for low-tack application techniques.
  • Track-specific cut lines: Rally cars often require panel removal in the field. We laid the film in such a way that it would not hinder future maintenance or rapid access.
  • Seamless branding integration: The Perfmet logo was designed to sit perfectly across the side panels and remain legible during high-speed photo ops.

And best of all? The Evo came out of the workshop looking brand-new — but still like it belonged in the dirt.

Challenges During the Job

There were a few very specific hurdles:

  1. Wrap residue from previous installs: Leftover glue and melted film near the exhaust and side skirts needed careful removal with heat and adhesive removers.
  2. Carbon fibre compatibility: Some areas were non-painted composite, requiring adhesion testing before final install.
  3. Maintaining visual symmetry: With racing vehicles, it’s not just about looks — sponsors and branding must stay aligned and spaced for regulations.
  4. Working around rally-specific hardware like roof vents, mudguards, and recovery hooks, which limited standard wrap workflows.

Through all of that, the end product looked clean, aggressive, and made to last.

Why Vinyl Wrapz Perth?

At Vinyl Wrapz Perth, we live and breathe high-performance vehicle wraps — and that includes motorsport.

Partial Wrap – Mitsubishi Triton Fleet for Allied Forklifts

Partial Wrap Fleet Branding for Allied Forklifts WA

Custom Mitsubishi Triton Wraps by Vinyl Wrapz – Perth’s Trusted Commercial Wrap Specialists

At Vinyl Wrapz, we pride ourselves on delivering visually striking, durable, and fast-turnaround vehicle branding solutions for commercial clients across Western Australia. One of our recent showcase projects was for Allied Forklifts WA, a well-known name in material handling and industrial equipment. This job involved a partial fleet wrap on a series of five Mitsubishi Triton utes, turning these reliable workhorses into bold mobile billboards.

This case study highlights our technical approach, wrap execution, and the value of cohesive fleet branding. Whether you operate one vehicle or one hundred, the principles we applied here can elevate your own commercial fleet.

Understanding the Client: Allied Forklifts WA

Allied Forklifts is one of Western Australia’s leading suppliers of forklifts and material handling equipment. Their fleet vehicles are seen throughout Perth, servicing industrial, warehouse, and logistics clients. As a highly visible operator, they needed vehicle graphics that:

  • Reinforce brand authority
  • Match the visual identity of their HELI Forklifts line
  • Withstand tough daily use

Fleet branding isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about brand recall, credibility, and creating mobile marketing assets that work for you 24/7 — and Allied Forklifts knew this.

Expertise in Every Detail

We were engaged to provide a partial vinyl wrap across five Mitsubishi Triton utes. The goal was to transform the standard silver and black OEM paintwork into a bold, brand-aligned statement, without the cost or downtime of a full vehicle wrap.

A partial wrap was the perfect solution here:

  • Quicker turnaround per vehicle
  • Easier to update or replace
  • Strategic coverage focusing on visibility zones (side panels, rear)

In-House Graphic Design with Brand Consistency

Our design team at Vinyl Wrapz handled the creative from the ground up. The brief was to deliver a bold, modern graphic that echoed Allied Forklifts’ colour palette (green, black, red) and incorporated both their core brand and their HELI Forklifts distribution identity.

The final layout combined:

  • A hexagonal green pattern with motion-inspired overlays
  • Strong logo positioning for both Allied Forklifts and HELI Forklifts
  • URL placement for lead generation

Every design we do balances creative expression with strategic branding — and this one hit that sweet spot.

Daily Vehicle Swaps, Tight Schedule, No Compromise

Because these vehicles were in daily use, we developed a rotating schedule with the client: one Triton per day. This kept their operations moving while allowing our installers the focused time they needed for perfection.

Our process included:

  • Thorough cleaning and decontamination before install
  • Temporary hardware removal (door handles, trims) for seamless film application
  • Reinstall and post-install QC inspection

Working under pressure is one thing — but maintaining quality under pressure is where Vinyl Wrapz stands out.

Wrap Quality & Longevity — It’s in the Details

Even partial wraps require the same precision as full vehicle wraps. The key to professional vehicle graphics lies in the finishing:

  • Edge sealing and wrap tucking ensure minimal lift over time
  • UV laminate layers protect from fading in the harsh WA sun
  • Alignment across curves and panel joins for clean visual flow
  • Strategic cut points allow for panel servicing without film damage

These Tritons weren’t just wrapped — they were engineered for daily commercial wear and tear.

Why Vinyl Wrapz Perth?

Allied Forklifts isn’t the first fleet we’ve transformed — and they won’t be the last. What sets us apart:

  • Experience in large-scale commercial signage
  • Reliable turnaround times without cutting corners
  • In-house design, production, and installation
  • Support with branding rollout and future expansion
  • Trained and Certified: Our team’s skills are endorsed by the industry’s best.
  • Quality Assurance: We guarantee a finish that’s both aesthetically pleasing and protective.

We know how trades and service-based businesses operate — and we deliver results that match your pace and standards.

Let’s Wrap Up: Is Your Fleet Pulling Its Weight?

If you’re still driving around in unbranded vehicles, you’re missing out on one of the cheapest, most effective marketing tools in your arsenal. Whether you’re a one-man trade or a growing WA business like Allied Forklifts, your vehicle can do more than get you from A to B — it can build brand trust, generate leads, and make you unforgettable on the road.
